Default A Moral Character Charge And Green Card

My question involves criminal records for the state of: california

i was convicted of a crime that goes under the section of a moral character turpitude 5 year ago. at the time i had a green card. i did leave the counrty after that because my husband got an offer outside the states. i kept on coming bacak for visites every few month for the first 2 years. after that i setteled down with my husband . now we are planing to go back to live in the states. i know that my green card might be already inadmissible since i have been outside the united states for more than 3 years in a row. am i eliggible to apply for the green card again even with a prior record of moral turpitude ?
my hudand is a US citizen and also my 2 kids.
