My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: CA
I want to get a ballpark figure on how much I should settle for. I am suing a big name car dealership for forgery and falsification of information and fraudulent charges that were added to the sales contract and false information that was submitted to finance companies on credit application by them. Someone at the dealership forged my co-signer's signature on all documents/ My co-signer never received anything. Plus I was never given any paperwork/contract till approx 1 month later, this is when I gound out about all they had done. I feel really angry they took advantage of me this way.
This is on a purchase of a used vehicle. The value of vehicle's total price with the addition of the charges they added is roughly 15,000 (includes the money I gave down but not finance charges) The dealership's attorney wants to settle with me (they are a multi million $$ company) what is a good figure? Min - max?
Would I be better off taking them to court? Could I get a lot more?
