You will need one attorney to handle the criminal charges pending... which, by the way, you can have some input into the sentence. A few weekends of picking up trash does wonders for an attitude.

You will need another attorney to handle the civil suit the injured child's parents are going to hit you with.

They will sue you for the medical expenses and, probably, any pain and suffering the child has experienced.

I disagree - she does not have input into the sentence or anything else.
The OP is not the mother. The FATHER and the MOTHER will probably be sued, have input with the Court etc. The OP is a legal bystander.
