I have been a LPR for almost 5 yrs (I am now eligible for applying US citizenship.) I had an incident with my neighbor about 6 months ago, where the police gave me two non-traffic citations i) one for trespass and the other one for harassment. I pleaded not guilty for both tickets and went to the local court. The judge dismissed the harassment charge but convicted me of defiant trespass and fined me $100. I did not appeal the decision and paid the fine. My question is, will this conviction make me inadmissible when i return to US from travelling abroad? My second question is, will this conviction disqualify me from applying for citizenship?
I read through the grading for the above conviction in the state's statutes and it is a bit confusing. It says, it is a misdemeanor of third degree generally and a summary offense sometimes. I consulted a criminal lawyer regarding this conviction and he told me it is like a traffic ticket.
