My question involves criminal law for the state of: Colorado
My boyfriend is currently serving out the final couple years of his DOC Sentence which is to be followed by 3 years of mandatory parole. When he entered the system he was classified as a Sex Offender even though there were no SO convictions (they were dropped as part of the plea). He's being forced into the SO treatment program, which requires him to sign and admission of guilt statement... we refuse to do that.
My question is once he reaches his max out date in DOC and is released with this program being a parole requirement.. he again plans to refuse it and will more than likely have his parole revoked.. will he be re-incarcerated for the remainder of his parole time?? As long as there are no new charges they can't continue to hold him past these 3 years, can they?? Once that time is served would he then walk out a free man??
Please tell me that this isn't something we will spend the rest of our lives paying for.. there has to be an end to the nonsense somewhere!!![]()
