    Default First Temporary Court Hearing

My question involves divorce in the State of: Texas

I have a temporary court hearing in the next week. I'm currently pregnant, and had just filed for divorce. Can anyone tell me what to expect during this hearing? It will be the first hearing in this divorce. I will be meeting with my attorney before the hearing, but I'm just a little nervous about going to court, and curious how it will be handled. Any good advice on how to present myself would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

It's a hearing to enter a temporary order? If everybody's in agreement as to the content of the order, it may be very short and focused on getting any agreement on the record or entering a consent order. If not, a hearing will likely be required and it is possible that testimony will be taken.

We can't really answer you without knowing what type of hearing this is, and "temporary court hearing" doesn't mean much. Your lawyer should be able to explain what to expect.

Don't be too nervous. No one likes to be in a courtroom, and it's normal to be uneasy. If both lawyers are doing their job, it will be done in the court library or another semi private room. The 4 of you will hash it out, as best you can ( with your lawyers doing most of the hashing).
Then, you may go in front of a judge, who will ask you simple questions like your name, birth date, date of marriage, are you aware of the specifics of the temp orders etc...
    And you'll be done.
If at all possible, ask your lawyer to try and get this changed from temporary hearing to final hearing. Save you time and money.

Well the baby is not born yet. This is why it is a temporary hearing of child support, spousal support, visitation, etc...Normal things that come along with a divorce when you have a child. I'm not sure why it isn't a final hearing other than the fact that the baby isn't here yet. I had to push just to get a divorce done before the baby was born. The only reason my attorney said that would be a good idea is b/c the father/husband could be deploying over seas sooner than later.
