Default What Is Likely Punishment For A Federal Probation Violation?

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington.
My boyfriend served 16 months in federal prison for a drug related crime. It was his first and only offense, and he has been out on probation for almost a year now, with no problems. But he was arrested for a DUI and second degree driving with a suspended license last week. He was released on bail the next day, but I am wondering what the final outcome for these violations is going to be for a 24 year old guy in this situation in Washington state? Jail time, electronic monitoring, I just need to know the most common/likely outcome for similar cases.

Its completely possible that your BF will be serving out his original sentence plus the violation of probation.
I sense there is something missing here...16 months in a federal prison for a first time offense? Must have been a big one.
Get your BF a good lawyer.

I just wonder what the actual resulting jail time, etc will be, lengthwise, for a violation of this nature. And yes, it was a big offense that put him in prison for 16 months. But is a dui enough to land him in county jail or something? I hear that approx 30-90 days could be in the realm of possibility, but not from anyone that knows for sure or isn't repeating some 3rd hand info they "may have heard once" type info. I don't think I left anything out, info-wise, though. He got in trouble, or rather, several people did. Involved ICE & DEA. Sentenced to 16 months. Servrd the 16 months. Got out, & has been on probation since then (it's been almost 2 years since his release). No trouble, then the dui & driving while suspended. And now we are at this point, which I am clueless about as far as legal proceedings of this sort typically go. He has a good lawyer but is there even anything the lawyer can do about it? He hasn't made a guilty/not guilty plea yet, but clearly an arrest for dui & a breathalyzer reading of .15 are pretty tough to work around, I would assume?

Mystery solved. 90 days in fed prison along w/the county requiring 48 hours jail time, a 90 day drivers license suspension and 1 year of an ignition interlock device in the car. I think he might like prison, or something! Why else act like a moron?

Yes, it makes you wonder why people do the things they do.
