My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio. I am going to mediation this week for the craziest thing eve. My neighbor lets his un-nuetered male dog run loose and it comes into our yard and fights with our german shepherd. I have walked the dog home several times and tried to tell the neighbors how serious this is. i am a single mom of three kids and I am NOT strong enough to break up a really big dog fight.

I called the dog warden and the police and they told me that if it happens off hours to try and catch the dog and hold it for them. Well I tried but the dog broke free and took off.

I called the dog warden the next day and reported ALL of this. The dog warden came out and issued them a citation because the dog was still gone and another citation for being unlicensed. They are so mad that they are claiming that I STOLE the dog. That is the reason that they are giving for it not being home.

Neighbors that saw all of this are in agreement with them. i had the dog on a leash at one point. But that was just to hold onto it for the dog warden.

The police interviewed all the neighbors and took in lots of gossip, as fact. No one ever asked me a single question. I am called to the prosecutors office this week.

I cannot understand any of this. Does the prosecutor have to take every crazy case? Does the mediator have the power to dismiss this case once they hear all the facts. I know i can"t afford a lawyer if this goes to court.

There is so much gossip now that every neighbor has suddenly decided they saw me take the dog and drive off to a secret location.

Thanks so much
