    Default Obtaining Citizenship

My boyfriend has been in the United States since he was 3 years old, he crossed legally with a border crosser ID, and ended up staying here in Arizona, he attended public schools and has established a life here, his mother has obtained her citizenship, we are eventually going to get married we have been together for 4 years. Would it be best for him to get his citizenship through our marriage or getting through his mother?

The only difference I could think of is with a marriage, the ICE will take the initial stance that the marriage is fraudulent, that it is just for immigration purposes and you have to show them proof of your life together. If it is a real marriage, then it is easy enough to prove this, but it is a pain to have to collect all the info, make copies, and then have to be questioned about it......This is something I would not think would have to be done if the parent sponsors them.
