Default My Lawyer Wants To Drop Me

My question involves workers compensation law for the state of California, for over 5 years now we have been trying to collect of a few worker comp claim, but after my last letter to my lawyer asking for his advice and saying it seems as if they have become tired of representing me , he became offended and told me that he choose to no longer represent me and sent me a paper to sign for a substitution of attorney and suggested that I represent myself in a pro per status.
What are my options, and can he do it?

You can try to convince your lawyer to keep representing you, find a different lawyer, or represent yourself.
