My question involves personal property located in the State of: Texas.
We own 2 lots that we got when our Grandma died. The lots were fenced and had a Barn and a shed with lots of trees.
The Port of Houston bought most of the properties in the area and mistakenly thought they bought ours. They decided to bulldoze everything without our permission. When we notified them, they said they owned it. A few days later they called us and said it was a mistake and they they didnt own it. They told us they would give us $6000 for the mistake.
Not only do we think its worth more but it was built by our Father that passed away and we still had some of his personal stuff inside that we didnt want to lose.
Since they tresspased on our property and bulldozed everything we had including trees that our family planted about 100 years ago( also have a park accross the road named after our family) do we have a case or is $6000 fair to try and replace all our memories....
Thanks for your help.
