Hello, a friend has been injured recently and seeking medical attention through company health insurance, doctor recommended not working while being trated. Couple of questions to those who may be able to shed light. This friend has a personal disability insurance paid personally and not through employer.
Let us say for arguments sake that she/he does have a valid injury covered by his/her personal insurance that prevents this person from working. Does having this personal insurance limit this person from claiming say disability or workers comp?
Would this persons job be in jeopardy due to this person's inability to work? Person has a tenure 3years with current employer.
