    Default Marrying An Immigrant

    Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I have been together for 2 years and engaged for 6 months now. We plan on getting married this winter here in California.
He has been living in California illegally for 5 years now. I am a u.s citizen.
What are the steps we need to take to obtain his residency after our wedding?
    Please help!

Here is a link to the USCIS that shows the steps for immigration through a family member (Spouse)

Did your fiance ENTER legally and just overstayed or did he enter the country illegally (without inspection, visa...)?

It makes a big difference. If he just overstayed, it should be not too much trouble. If he entered illegally, the only way to he could get residency is to prove some sort of hardship or politcal persecution, and that is not very easy to do.
