My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Indiana

My Chapter 7 was discharged in October 2007. I exempted my home and retirement savings. The IRS filed a Federal Tax Lien for $45K which was subsequently discharged in the BK. However, the lien still remains. My attorney told me that I simply had to "out live" the lien (10 years from assessment).

The IRS is now looking to enforce that lien (even though the dept is discharged). They are looking at my home, and my retirement. I am having trouble getting a mortgage because no mortgage company will touch me until the lien is actually released. I've tried to sell the house even at a huge discount with no luck due to the horrible RE market.

HELP...I'M STUCK! Any Ideas?
