My question involves bankruptcy in the state of:Michigan
My wife and I filed and are currently in a 60 month Chapter 13 Bankruptcy since March of 06. We did not include our home mortgage or second mortgage in this proceeding as we felt we could continue the payments with the monies we were earning and did not want to lose the house.
In June 06 I lost my job as new owners took over the company, and then in Jan 07 I suffered a major brain tumor with no insurance. With being unemployed for about 1 year things became increasingly difficult to say the least. At this time we are not able to make the full mortgage payments and are facing possible foreclosure. Our income has decreased about 50% with me only being able to find a couple part time jobs. Is it possible to a add the mortgage to the Chapter 13 and increase our payments to the trustee and b what impact will it have on our bankruptcy if we cannot do what is asked in A above and foreclosure does take place?
I have tried to contact my BK attorney but have yet to hear back from him....
Thank you very much
