I worked for a major company for a total of 11 years, and in November I was terminated for "creating a hostile work enviornment". The allegations of misconduct were made by an employee that I fired and then agreed to re-hire shortly before Christmas of 2004. The final outcome of the "investigation" was that 7 people including myself all said the allegations were false while 4 people, all of whom have been formally disciplined (3 by me), said the allegations were true. Based on this investigation that took place 6 months after I transferred and moved to another state, I was terminated. The person who did the investigation was working another investigation dealing with the same type of allegations and a completely different supervisor, when he talked to the employee that I had terminated last year. My boss admitted to me that the investigation dealing with me was not a result of an ethics call or letter, but of a comment made in another investigation. Some of the problems I have with this is that every person interviewed directly reported to me, and they did not interview any of my peers, or anyone from the previous 5 states I had worked in as a supervisor. This was by no means a valid investigation and I'm just curious if you all think I have a case here. Also note that this company began its "re-organization" the week before I was let go.
