My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: PENNSYLVANIA

I am needing help with a credit card situation that I am in. I have outstanding credit card debt and today a Sheriff came to my home when I was not home and told my landlord that he was looking for me to serve papers on me for a credit card debt.

My question is, what is the statute of limitations on credit card debt in Pennsylvania and how can I obtain the last activity on this specific account. I understand that the statute date begins on the last payment on the account. Is this correct?

Also, since I wasn't home I suppose this Sheriff will be back. What is the protocol/process from the time that I am served until this reaches the court stage? Also, can a Sheriff insist that my landlord open my home to him to see if I am in the house?
