My question involves business law in the state of: California
Hello,
Here is my Problem:
I originally agreed on consulting full time for a company for 8.5k a month, and then when I went back the next day the company said the budget was only for 5k a month and if I would agree to do part time for that.
I agreed and signed a 90 day contract.
3 weeks later, they wanted to sign a new contract of 3k a month, and bonuses up to 10k for meeting my goals. As I was on track for meeting my goals I agreed to talk about it, but never signed the new contract.
Upon going into the office on Friday to talk about the new contract… I was told they wanted to drop the contract all together, but after some talking they agreed to 4.5k a month and I had to have one of my interns also work on the project.
Now Monday morning comes and they call me and tell me they want to drop working with my company all together.
I’m obviously very ok with giving up this business because they didn’t seem to know what they wanted, or at least not willing to pay for it. However I still have the 90 day contract with only 3 weeks paid on it. No new contract was signed nor this one voided.
Am I entitled to the remaining balance of this contract? Or should I request partial payment? As I’m a start up myself, the money helps since I have my own employees to pay , and time and effort have already been spent on this.
thanks
