However, you can always call and ask them for their help. Heck, you could even ask if you could hire an off duty to show up in uniform and just oversee that no violence would occur.

so since this is in a very small town far from a big city what do you reccomend?
how would i get in contact with a marshall? and do i schedule a time with them?
my best bet is if i dont have a person in uniform with me they would tell me to f**k off and that i cant take them. and if that was to happen thats an 8 hour round trip wasted unless if i could simply call the police and say well this company has my stolen property and wont give it back can you come help?
If they tell you that you can't have them, then you walk a block to the police station with your paperwork and report them stolen.
For obvious reasons, I would not warn your former boss that you were coming.
