    Default Word Versus Word

    Let's say that the prosecution has a single witness. The witness makes X claim, while the defendant refutes that claim. Could a conviction be found off this alone?

    Edit: Oregon, though I doubt the state matters in this question.

    I expect that would depend on the evidence provided.

    Ditto. The trier of fact, whether it be Judge or Jury, weighs the evidence.


    The only crime I know which requires the testimony of at least 2 (two) witnesses for conviction, is Treason, per the Constitution!!

    The chances are about 50-50, more or less.

    Those are the same chances for anything happening in the universe.
