Default Becoming A Police Officer With A Wet Reckless Charge

Hi I'm 21 years old and reside in California. I'm trying to pursue a career as a police officer, but my background isn't so clean. Almost 3 years ago I was arrested for driving while intoxicated and pleaded no contest to a wet wreckless. Will this conviction affect my elegibility as a police officer? Can this conviction be expunged? since I've completed my 3 years of probation, payed my fines, and completed the court's programs(hospital and coroner's office).

Depending upon what statutes you were convicted under, you may be eligible for a dismissal.

I would suggest speaking with your local police department about whether or not your conviction could hinder your career aspirations.

Thanks for the link. I checked it out and got alot of info. Luckly the statue I was charged with is one that can be dismissed. So I would have to go to the court were I was convicted and request the petitions there right?
