Statutory Rape Law in Florida

I have a question. I engaged in oral sex with a 16 year old girl in Florida when I was 25. This was some years ago. Last year, Florida tightened its age of consent laws. Can I be prosecuted under the new law which defines this as a felony or the old law which defines it as a misdemeanor?

I looked up the law soon after the event when I told this girl I was with that we shouldn't engage in any activity anymore until she turned 18, but I can't seem to find it now. Every search I do for Florida laws brings up the new 2007 laws. Can anyone provide a link for the old laws?

The likeihood of a 25 year old giving or recieving oral sex with or from a 16 year old being lawful is very slim! What year did this take place?

You'll likely not find them online. Try visiting the library. They should be able to get you the penal code for whatever year you're looking for.

The SOL most likely begins (not ends) when minor turns 18. so if he has violated a crime he is still in very deep poo poo
