Default Super Hot, Super Problems in Reading, PA

I have lived in my apartment since the end of June. Since that time I have had numerous problems. The latest problem was that since the end of October, our property manager has had our heat on. There is something wrong with the boilers and so out apartment is 79.9 degrees and that is with the ceiling fan on. We can not control our own heat and the property manager is threatening us with a $10 charge per window open each day. Can he do this? The problem is suppose to be resolved this week but now we will have no heat for the entire week. This is the latest problem. We have dealt with fleas on the wall in front of our building when we moved in and had vet bills for our small dog because of it (they never took care of the problem), maintence requests that were never answered or addressed (incl. back door not working, one back door key not working, missing fridge shelves, leakey bath water, etc), brown rust hot water, lack of hot water, stolen mail and the list can go on. I really want to just find a new place to live and break my lease (I am suppose to let them know in April if I will renew but I don't know if I can wait till them). Is there any way I can go about trying to break my lease that isn't costly? I am a college student who can't afford extra cost. Thank you. ops:

    Default Open Windows

I doubt that there is any authority under which you could be charged for having open windows, but I haven't had the opportunity to review your lease... so there may well be one.

If you're a student, perhaps your college has a "student legal services" office where you can have your situation reviewed by a lawyer.
