    Default Quit Claim Deed

    My father passed away and only my mothe name is on the deed. We want to add my sister name to the deed. I heard that if we add my sister to the deed, then the taxes on the land would be re-assested at a current tax level and not the orginal tax level. Is this true.... David

    Generally speaking, yes. But laws are different in each state, sou will have to investigate the specific laws of your (undisclosed) state.
