Default Missouri Shoplifting: Worst Case Scenario?

Alright, I'm just gonna get right down to the point.

I am 17 years old. My friend and I went to Rue21, I stole $6 in panties, and left. We went to Macy's with the panties in our purses, and proceeded to take clothes from there. The amount I stole ended up being $70. I'm not going to bother going through all the details, as they're unimportant, now. We admitted to the underwear being stolen. The police were called, we were handcuffed, searched, and put in the back of a police car. Taken to the police department, got our finger prints, mugshot, all that done. Then we each got two tickets.

So I've got a few questions. On two counts of stealing, with no previous record, I have above average grades, nearly perfect, what is the worst case scenario? What is the most they can charge me with? And also, what do you think they are most likely to do? I have an attorney, he was once a judge, I'm not sure why he isn't anymore. However, I'm still a tad bit wary. I would like to be more educated on the whole situation, and feel slightly less bewildered.

"A misdemeanor stealing charge can carry a penalty of from 1 day to 1 year in jail, and a fine of up to $1000.

Felony stealing carries a penalty of potentially 1 to 7 years in jail and a fine of up to $5000.

Any third offense of a stealing criminal charge is considered at least a Class D felony. "

Stealing from multiple stores in many states makes the charge a felony. You should consult a criminal defense Attorney as soon as possible

It's just a misdemeanor. Like cksherer said, a third offense becomes a felony.

Also, thanks for your answers. That's my only question, for now.

In some states it is 2 charges on the same day totalling x. In some states it is 3 charges within x days regardless of the total. It could be 3 Hershey bars. it's a Felony.

    Here's a bit o' "guidance" for ya,
    http://www.moga.mo.gov/statutes/c500-599/5700000050.htm

Under $500, misdemeanor. Over $500, felony. One word to take note of though, "may"!

Now go forth and sin no more.
