What is the legal definition of "as soon as practicable" and what does this mean in the real world in regards to the time frame that an officer has to submit a ticket to the court after writing a ticket?
Thanks,

Generally, traffic tickets have to be filed within a year after they are given.
All depends on where you live. In WA it's 5 days.
I think California is 6 business days but I'm not sure; I know that's close.
Sorry. I'm in Southern California, Riverside court specifically.

How long in OHio for officers report. Went to court for ticket, no officer there, masterigate told son to deny charges. Over two weeks later got undated copy from prosecuter of officers report that case was going back to court. Was told when I called State Highway partol before going to court that there was no report because there was no accident. I'm confused. Need advise fast.
Anyone know anything about this?
