Im sorry this has happened, hang on tight, it will be a very bumpy ride. Same thing has happened to my family. We never found out who called because the accusers are protected. In a perfect world this makes sense but when the system is being used by people with a grudge, the system is abused. Regardless of if the charges are false, and the case worker believes you, you still have to be fully investigated. Although our charges were deemed unfounded, CPS still has the right to "drop" by any time day or night for 2 years and we are now on record and if ANYTHING happens, they will swoop in. Keep in mind that this happens even when we were cleared.

At least in my state, CPS/ACS has ALL THE RIGHTS. All I can suggest is keep your lawyer's phone number in your pocket. CPS/ACS is very hard to fight but if you have a good lawyer, your chances are slightly better. Our lawyer told us flat out the day after CPS came knocking (at midnight.. which is legal) that they are over powered and they can pretty much do anything they want. Including sneaking to your child's school and questioning them with out your knowledge, consent or presence. Demanding to see your child anytime day or night and depending on what kind of mood your case worker is in, can yank your child right then and there before an investigation has even offically started. It's all at the whim of your case worker.

Im thinking if she didnt "go to the next step then" you should be okay. But trying to clear your record.. I dont know how to do that. I tried.
