    Default Criminal Threats

is threatening to take legal action, say if an apology or retraction of a statement isn't made, considered a 'criminal threat'?

this is probably a dumb question but I needed to be sure because I've heard conversations that went...

"I'll sue you if you don't stop blah blah"
"oh really, is that a threat?"

so, I just wanted some clarification

    Default Criminal Laws

Laws vary by jurisdiction, so it would depend upon how the jurisdiction at issue defines "criminal threat"; but probably not.
