I live in Michigan and today I received a call on my cell phone from Asset Acceptance re: old phone bill from 2000. The bill may be mine and I have no idea what the balance would/should be. The item is no longer on my credit reports and I wonder do I pay this 8 year old bill and if I do, will it pop back up on my credit reports? Also, what could happen if I respond to them with the Statute of Limitations letter? I didn't argue with the CSR I simply told her to send me something in writing. Can I tell them not to call me anymore? I am open to suggestions so please give me yours. Thanks
