hello and i really hope you can answer these questions for me. i think i already know the answer but want a second opinion. first i have a criminal record that is 14 years old for theft of services/odometer tampering/destruction of property in georgia and i had to have a background check done for employment i was honest with the employer and told them about my record as always and she said nop problem as long as no violent crimes or sexual natured crimes (work was with elderly in assisted living home) well i brought her the background check and it said word for word what i told her but she said she couldnt hire me. but i have worked in this field for over 8 years never had a problem with my record. so i looked on the dhr website and my charges arent listed as non acceptable charges so what can i do about them denying me employment based on my criminal record as i know that is the only reason i have excellent refrences and great work ethic and love working with the elderly. then i also want to know if i can get my records sealed or expunged my rights were restored a few years ago to vote and carry a firearm even though i didnt vote in the clinton election i saw no need after what good could become of selecting the lesser of two evils. but thats an issue for another forum. anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated.
