    Default Union Harassment

I am a manager (salaried) in a union shop in KY. In the process of being good at my job, I am the target of false accusations. I have been investigated for several different things involving improper gifts, improper payments directly to me, being a drug user, you name it, I have been accused of it. None of these items are true, nor have they even shown to have any merit during the companies investigation of which I have initiated since I wanted the truth to come out. When these allegations are made, it is through a call center of which no one has to give a name or location just who they are accusing of what. The accuser has to show no proof or anything. My question is this....When do I have any rights to put an end to this besdie quitting my job? Do I have any rights to justify a slander claim if I know the party that stated the initial claim ? Can I file a harassment lawsuit against the union since this has interfered with my job function, not with my employment? Do I have any rights in this matter? I have filed complaints within the corporation with our human resource manager.

    Default Re: Union Harassment

What does the union have to do with the fact that accusations are being made against you?

I assume that the call center through which the accusations are made is connected to the company and the accusations are reviewed by the company. What has happened to you as a result of the false accusations? If I understand you correctly, the investigations the company undertook were at your request. Has the company taken any action against you because of any of the accusations?

About what did you complain to the Human Resources Manager? How do you expect either your employer or the union to stop anonymous complaints?

It may be that your reaction is exacerbating your situation. It doesn't seem that your employer is that concerned about them. The action it has taken has been at your instigation. Maybe ignoring the accusations is the best way to put a stop to them. Whoever is making them is probably enjoying your reaction and feels empowered by your response.
