    Post Resident Card Expired

    I have a couple of questions, my dad is a recident of the USA his card expired in 2004 its been a while since he went to the usa can he still go back... if yes, he is 87 years old what chances are there that he can get his citizenship.. what should he do? ...he lives in mex now...

    If he intends to go back to live in the US, he needs to renew his green card first. Otherwise, if he's only planning a short visit, he can apply for a tourist visa.

    In order to obtain citizenship, one must be a lawful permanent resident, residing in the US at least 5 years prior to filing with absences from the United States totaling no more than one year.
