Friend in Connecticut was arrested at work one Friday afternoon and spent weekend in jail for allegedly not paying child support. However, that Monday, he showed the judge his pay stubs that indicated that his wages were correctly garnished for the support for the time period in question. It was determined that his employer was deducting the wages from his salary, but not paying the child's custodian.
When the employee spoke to his employer, the employer subsequently offered 8 hour payment for Saturday (at 1.5 rate) and 8 hour payment for Monday.
Are there any implications in accepting this pay? Nothing was signed. Would it be reasonable that the employer should be held for more damages than what was offered?
