Petty, I agree. Let's get real---it wouldn't have hurt a thing had this cop just confiscated the paraphernalia and let them on their way. Not obtaining representation---I certainly DONT agree. This guy has a ton to lose and I don't believe for a moment most police/DA's are ethical and honest. I find it hard to believe this cop had a valid reason for searching the vehicle because he smelled pot which turned out to be 2 bowls that were in the trunk---impossible---unless there were dogs involved. What was probably happening was a gung-ho or bored trooper on speeding detail who pulled these guys over for speeding and guessed---perhaps by appearance.
