I just found out that my 16 year old daughter was forced to have sex with a 17 year old. When the event happened, she was 15 years and 9 months old...and he was 17. The young man is currently 3 months from his 18th birthday. What recourse do I as a parent have???

Report it to the police.

His age doesn't matter when it comes to forcing someone to have sex.

ajmcpa, make sure you get her counseling.

I was a victim of acquaintance rape at 16, and I have dealt with it my entire adult life. It has affected my relationships very negatively, even to the point of having dreams about harming my attacker.

I was embarrassed and didn't tell anyone at the time because I snuck out of the house and wasn't supposed to be out.

If your daughter has confided in you, please get her help. I wish I had felt comfortable enough to discuss it with my parents.

HT is correct leave the computer and contact Police NOW! Age is not an issue here as the act was forced. This rape not stautory rape!
