Without knowing a lot more about her situation, all I can really do is suggest that she consult a criminal defense lawyer.
I wanted to post a question about the same situation......Here it is....
My brother is/was on probation for THEFT and got 60 days in the county jail and 5 years probation. His probation period was to expire in Nov. 2008. Last weekend he was arrested at his home for a "new" THEFT charge and is currently being held without bond for that charge and has a $800,000.00 for the first charge or should I say "probation violation" charge. I am thinking that as a result of his bond being set so high on the probation violation charge, his probation officer could possibly reccomend that he is sentenced to the duration of time he has left on probation. Here are my questions.....
Will he be tried on two cases? and sentenced on two cases?
What kind of prison time is he facing for the second charge? He's charged with stealing anywhere from $20K to $100K in merchandise. We reside in Texas.
I've noticed on the Harris County Sheriff's Dept. website that he now has two cases and have a court date of Apr. 5, 2006 for both. Why is that?
