    Default Statutes Of Limitation

Does anyone know what the statues of limitation are in the state of Michigan for recovering commission dollars not paid on an independent contractor contract? Any help would be appreciated. Also, I have just discovered descepencies as far back as 2004

    Default Re: Statutes Of Limitation

Michigan - it seems 6 years SOL. Since you are an IC, you can't submit a claim through the DOL but will have to sue in court. You can sue in small claims court (w/o a lawyer) in Mi. for up to $3,000 - if you sue for an amt. over that, you will have to sue in a higher court with a lawyer. Of course, there's a possibility that there is something in your contract contrary to what I stated.
