Hi... I am hoping someone here can guide me in the right direction. We filed for Chapter 13 in January. In our payment plan we are paying the arrears on our mortgage, which is fine. My problem now is that we are in an ARM mortgage and the rate just adjusted again, making our payment almost $300 more a month. WE called our mortgage company to try to get some help with the ARM mortgages and were told that they would not offer any help at all until after our bankruptcy is discharged. So now we just don't know what to do. The thing is, we tried to get help before we filed, but our mortgage company yanked us around for THREE months, giving us different stories each time that we called. I am just so frustrated, and am fearing that we will loose our house. With the trustee payment and the higher mortgage payment, we are where we were before the bankruptcy with monthly payments. I know we can't refi until the bankruptcy is discharged in three years.
If anyone has ANY suggestions, that would be great.
Also, someone had told me that when they had filed Chapter 7, there mortgage company worked out a new plan/terms with them, would it make more sense to do this??
