Default Accused Of Theft of Store Cards

This is my first time ever in trouble. I don't even have a traffic violation. I was working at JCPennys and over the course of a month (during Christmas time) stole gift cards that I had activated at the register and did not pay for. I am not exactly sure of the amount. My paperwork stated "in the amount of less than 500 dollars." I am going to pretrial today, should I expect to receive jail time? I am scared because I currently have two weeks of college left, a 2 yr old, and am pregnant.
