Default Eviction Of Grown Children In Texas

I have a 20 year old son and his 20 year old girlfriend living in my home in Texas. While they have repeatedly said they will move out next month, next month never comes. They do not pay rent nor are they on a lease. How can I evict them from my home? Thanks for your help.

Well, if they're not paying you, and more importantly if you haven't accepted payment, they are houseguests - not tenants.

You probably could just kick 'em out and change the locks. More realistic would be to give them a week or two to vacate and then change the locks. There is a legal concept of tenancy at will and tenancy at sufferance(of owner) that might need to be considered as you have let them squat there for so long. Either way, you'll have to make arrangements for them to get their personal property out of the house(don't just dump it out where it can get ruined or stolen).
