I have a roomate whom has been a pain since day one. Currently I was sent a letter from management stating that I was reported for having pets in the building. Well per the agreement I am allowed to have my pets "visit". Which they were at the time I was reported. My roomate has not been living in the apartment for two months now but paying for her part of the rent. She got her mom's house where she is now currently living. So pretty much she just doesn't want to pay the rent because she has a new place to live. She knows the only way out of rent is to get both of us evicted. Which is what she is doing now. I wrote a letter back to management explaining what was going on. I have not heard back yet. I was wondering if there is anything legal that I can do.
She is mentally unstable and one of the main reasons we didn't live well together was because she brought drugs and dealers into the apartment and after repeated threats to go to police she started to make my life hell. I want to have her not have access to the apartment but still pay rent. Is that something I can fight for using the drug angle? I have pictures and proof of the drugs as well as the damages her pet cat did to her room. Which I am sure she will not be fixing come move out. What should I prepare myself for when the apartment contacts me? Is there anything that I can do to protect myself from this crazy person?
Like I said before I did my best to explain to the management via letter what is going on. I am not sure what to expect and am very nervous.
