Hi, I'm an honest and very good wedding photographer in Pennsylvania.
I have liability insurance of $2 million, I have errors and omissions insurance of about $15,000.
I bank my retainers. I deliver products. I'm a good comunicator who stays closely in touch during the design of albums. I love what I do and feel that it's a huge honor everytime a bride selects me. I've been in business as a full time pro for 3 years now.
On the other hand, I might get sick (and a backup photographer might not be available). Weddings are crazy uncontrolled events. Equipment can fail.
I'm human. I might screw up.
I worry when I read stories like the dry cleaners that got sued for $15 million for losing a pair of pants. Or BestBuy getting sued for $30 million for losing a laptop computer. Wedding photographers don't make much money, even if it seems like it. It's doubtful that I could even afford an attorney to fight a lawsuit like those.
Do I have enough insurance?
