my brother and his girlfriend were renting a house together, in which both of their names were listed on the lease when they moved in. they broke up, and my brother was in the process of moving out, and the girlfriend changed the locks and had a copy of the new lease with only her name on it, no longer my brothers, although he had not signed anything, nor notified the landlord.
he was still getting his mail at the address, and had some personal belongings in the home, which he could not get since she changed the locks. can the landlord just remove him from the lease without his knowledge?
