Hi, my names Paul and i was looking for a few answer. As a child from around the age of 10-18 I was assaulted multiple times (30+ times easily) by my mothers soon to be ex husband. These were from as small as push against the wall to being held in the air by the throat and punched to the body. Well after years he is finally out of my house and I can now live without fear of further assaults. I am now 20 and now with myself finishing college and with him no longer living at my house to harm me I was wondering if there was anyway of prosicuting him now. You may ask why I didn't do anything as a child, merely I feared for my life and had no one to help. I feel like if I don't do something my 9yr old sister who is his child may have to go through this also.
I need to know:
-What is the statuate of limitations in Ontario with child assaults
-What kind of evidence I need (my grandmothers and other family members have seen my bruises and seen his anger in action, he assaulted one guy in my grade for not moving out of his way [slammed him to a wall], and my 9 year old sister has witnessed)
-How would i go about doing this.
Thanks,
Paul.
