I had a vehicle repossed in Washington State and completed my intial 3 month hardship payment arrangements with the collection agency. The collection company is now saying that the creditor is requiring the payment be made over the next year and a half which puts the payment higher than I can afford. They also want money this month which I don't have. I was told I needed to agree to this terms or they would proceed with filing for a court judgement.
My question would be is it better to continue to try and reach an agreement with the collection company or let them take me to court where I can show that the payments would create a hardship and more debt to my current situation. I'm not sure how much more I would end up paying for filing fees and lawyer costs on their end.
