Default Fired Over Posts On An Online Dating Site

i was fired at a job after only one week due to a former coworker from my previous job who also worked at my new job site giving her pictures of me from an online dating site. this former co worker worked outside the scope of her job by giving my new boss human resource info about me. i file discrimination charges stating that they were firing me due to being female on internet site asking for sex. i thought i was being treated unfair and that males who work for this place are allowed to go to strip bars and buy porn magazines in public and they are not fired. also this place has a band that uses viagra in their name and sang in public a joke song about male masturbation. do you think i can win?

    Q: Is This Discrimination?

A: Yes. But it's not illegal.

Wow...all in one weeks time! Holy Cow. What a place to work....wonder what the Christmas parties are like!
The bottom line is anyone can fire anyone and with all that happening in one week, they can and will get away with it, they will just give another different reason. Unless you have a contract ....do you?

If your employer has at least 15 employees and you believe that you have been treated differently because of your sex, you can discuss the matter with EEOC. However, I'm not sure that "asking for sex" on the internet and being allowed to go to a strip bars and purchasing porn are comparable offenses for which there is an expectation of similar treatment. Are the males allowed to do the things you mention while "on the clock?"

i didn't do these things on the clock. how is asking for sex on an online dating site immoral yet a male can go to 7 eleven and get playboy or go to a strip club or sing about male masturbation in public? the fact that the male employee has the freedom to do those things and i'm nailed for this makes no sense.

Can you point to a male employee who has been allowed to behave as you describe without being fired, or are you just assuming that a male employee would not be disciplined?

The behavior does not have to have happened on the clock for the employer to be able to legally fire you for it.

can somebody explain to me why males are free to go to strip bars and buy porn at 7 eleven and sing about male masturbation in public and that is different from a female going onto a dating sight asking for sex? i feel like it's just "boys will be boys". but if you're female you better be prim and proper.

and has my former employer breached my employment confidentiality by allowing this former co worker to disclose this stuff to my boss? can legal action be taken against them?

when talking about discrimination it can be demonstrated in the Emmit Till case of the 1950's. one could argue that the jury allowed his murderer's to go free because they thought his behavior was immoral or indecent due to his race and his behavior of whistling at a white (rhymes with witch - sorry don't know what else to call a person who wants to murder a kid). meanwhile white kids have the freedom to "flirt" with others. i'm being called immoral and indecent for being a female expressing my sexuality and and men are allowed to express their sexuality by strip clubs, porn mags, and singing songs about it in public.
