What is the definition of abandoment (spelling??) ? Is there a limit on how long you can "visit" with your child out of state before you have been considered "moved"???

Abandonment has several different meanings. Typically it means no contact at all by the absent parent for anywhere from 6 months to a year or longer. No contact means just that, no phone calls, no visits, no cards, no letters, no emails, no gifts, and no CS.
Please explain the situation regarding your second question.
My residence is in la but i am now working in tx. 50 miles one way. My ex and his mom offered to help out with kids (i am domcil parent) I can't "move" the children w/out his permission or the courts. 3 boys 15, 10 and 2. My big boys do not like their dad at all (long story, much rejection and hurt their) so they are with my mom, that is where we live but the 2 yr old stays with his dad more. Anyway, I am engaged, plan to love to tx full time eventually but there are times I stay over due to tirdness of late hours. All this was ok with everyone except now my ex (bio-polar, unedicated) whenhe throws his fits he screams I have ababdomed the children and I am not to take them over the state line. In my decree, I can't "move" them but I can travel. I go back and forth as the children on the weekend go back and forth when I have them for entainment sake, we do alot here and there. I have contact with my big boys during the week when I am in tx working up to 10 times a day through phone calls, texting, email, etc......their dad knows this too. the little one I talk to when he is with his nan (ex's mom) because my ex will not answer his phone. I also talk to the little one (2) every wednesday that I am not in LA because my 15 year old will go to the nursey at church and let me talk. I am just in between two states, have an abudnace of communication, even meet half way for dinner sometimes. I have not just dropped off the kids and never gone back. My legal residence is still in la as my kids are. My ex has said the big boys can move but the little will not. My ex is using the little one for control issues and to hurt me and the big ones. I tried to look up the meanings for LA laws but could not find them. I want to travel with boys and legally can according to my decree but just wondered if their was a law or limit on how long you can travel, visit, or be out of town before it became a law issue. thanks
i did not proof sorry for the unclear of some of this was typing way to fast.
