Through a series of unfortunate events, I have a relative's pit bull mix puppy living in my apartment with me. The complex does allow dogs, "as the landlord's discretion" the lease reads. The managment contacted me and told me the dog must go. I requested the opportunity to pay the pet deposit and additional rent. I was told yes, but I would have to bring a picture to the office and move into a "dog building." I agreed. A few days later, I received a call saying the management had changed their minds and I would have to get rid of the dog immediately. I requested an amicable solution--long story short, I had to take the dog for a series of vet visits and still I received a "notice to quit related to the dog being a health hazaard" and another letter today saying "you and/or the dog must move out immediately."
Is there a minimal time the state of Michigan allows for you to pack, find an new home, and move?
