Default Unauthorized Use Of A Credit Card

I made a mistake about a week back during a very emotional split from a girl. When the relationship ended she owed me a couple of thousand dollars for some airline tickets and hotel rooms. After asking several times for her to work with me on resolving the issue, I got sick of waiting so I took a cerdit card of hers. Then I took the money myself, in exchange for the goods. I realized that was not the right thing to do, so I confessed to her what I did and paid her the money on the spot.

She flipped, filed a report but that's it. The cop told her that if the check is good, which it is, then he would not do anything. Knowing this person as I do, I know she is getting pushed to screw me by the guy she is seeing and want to know what exactley can happen? I didn't break in her house or anything. I know taking and using the card was foolish and made payment almost right after I realized how dumb it was.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So, the cops are already involved and have stated that your reimbursement will suffice to ward off charges. That, hopefully, is that.

BUT, that doesn't stop her from causing a ruckus with the prosecutor about this. Possibly the prosecutor will not listen and say something to the effect of "....you got your money back, call it a day...".

Hopefully it may work out in your favor.........

NOW GO FORTH AND SIN NO MORE!!!

Yeah, the report doesn't mean anything unless she presses charges. She has deposited the check I wrote, and it has cleared. I have not contacted nor will I be contacting her anytime soon. I am just going to take the loss on the money she owes me, the money was never the issue, so its worth it to me to just be done.

No contact EVER would be the most prudent choice. Say, for example, you try to make contact, she's already got the 'crosshairs' on ya and all she'd have to do is pitch a giant fit at the local prosecutor's office, catch one of them in a 'oh-the-poor-lass' mood, then you could be hosed and the P.A. may not care if you made restitution.

IF that would be the case then you'd have the restitution in your favor and would most likely stand a very good chance at a dismissal.
