Brother Got Caught Shoplifting At Macy's

My brother and I decided to go shoping at Macy's and we both have clean records never did one thing wrong! My brother is 16 and im 18. I took some clothes in the fitting room and so did he. But I didnt like how the clothes fit on me so I kept them in the room. So i went off to buy a hat and went to get the car and parked up front. He was coming out and 2 laddies grabed him and i had no idea what happen because I didnt know he was atempting to steal. So the lady called the cops and took my brother to the police station and out of no where they brought my name up.. They said i was helping him. They saw me on camera with him, even though I didnt steal anthing. So my mom gave them my name and my birthday thats all. What do you think is going to happen to me. Because im like really scared and i didnt do anything wrong!!! Please someone help me and let me know what I might be facing

and the lady who stoped my brother talked to my mom, the one who works at Macy's. But then they took him to the police station and the cop was talking to my mom.

It's too soon to know if you are going to be charged with shoplifting like your brother or not.

Depending on what the video tape showed, it may appear you were an accomplice to the crime. They apparently think you were helping him.

They will let you know if you are going to be charged.

What did you do when you seen your brother being detained?

I was waiting in the car for him... The lady said I was an accomplice to the crime and i was helping him. Can someone please tell me what I might be facing. I'm like really scared because i really think I didn't do anything wrong I actually bought a hat before I left.

-Will I get in deeper trouble then him ?


PLease help me im like freaking out didn't sleep all night, I never have gotten in trouble by the law never !!

Based soley on what you have posted I don't see how they can "prove" you had knowledge of your Brother's actions. I am not sayin gone way or the other if you did though. Fact you two seperated shows that you could not have had "absolute" knowledge he stole. It is possible you knew of aplan and thats why you were going to get car. Which makes more sense than your version. However again the burden of proof may save you.

It was about 8:30 so i wanted to go to the other side of the mall to return my shirt. The mall was like going to close in 15 minutes thats why I brought the car because it would of took much more time walking.

I dont need your explanation and what I believe is of no consequence. It will be difficult to prove your involvment in the theft.
